Lucknow: Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has publicly refuted the alleged remarks made by Samajwadi Party leader Om Prakash Singh concerning his birth. In a social‑media post, Rajbhar said he has been hearing Singh’s statements over the last two days and, instead of surprise, he feels pity for Singh.
Rajbhar explained that the comments about his origins stem from the fact that he belongs to the modest, backward Rajbhar community rather than a landlord or upper‑caste family. He emphasized that he has never regretted his heritage; on the contrary, he takes pride in the resolve and determination that his community upbringing has instilled in him.
While acknowledging that he could easily retaliate with similar slurs, Rajbhar said his values and upbringing prevent him from insulting anyone’s parents. Paying respect to Singh’s parents, he added that no one chooses the time, place, family, lineage, or caste into which they are born – that is determined by the Almighty.
Also Targets the SP
Rajbhar then turned his criticism toward the Samajwadi Party and Singh, suggesting that Singh’s loyalty to the party is driven solely by a desire to secure an assembly ticket. He hinted that Singh may not be a believer, noting that if he were, he would not remain with a party that, in Rajbhar’s view, shows disrespect toward Lord Ram, the Raghukul lineage, the Suryavansh dynasty, and Sanatan Dharma.
He reiterated his commitment to serve the Rajbhar community, backward classes, Dalits, and the oppressed, stressing that he works without worrying about the outcome, merely fulfilling his duty.
Taking a jab at Singh, Rajbhar said, “If you want an SP ticket, go ahead and take it. The public is watching everything, and when the time comes, it will be the public that passes the verdict.”
Says He Does Not Expect an Apology
Rajbhar clarified that he does not expect an apology from Singh, nor does he demand one. However, he urged Singh to reflect on his own parents and consider whether it is appropriate to make disparaging remarks about another person’s caste or birth.
He concluded his post with a benediction, writing, “May God bless him,” followed by “Jai Shri Ram.”
