Delhi, India – Investigators have uncovered a disturbing case involving the alleged sexual assault of a sixth‑grade student inside a local shop in the bustling Sadar Bazar district. The accused, identified as 56‑year‑old Maqsood, has been taken into custody while detectives continue to piece together the events.

How the incident allegedly unfolded

According to the victim’s statement, she stepped out of her home to purchase stationery supplies. Once inside the shop, the perpetrator is said to have confined her by binding her hands and feet, subsequently committing the sexual act.

The complaint prompted the women’s police station to lodge a formal FIR, invoking sections that address rape, violations of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and unlawful confinement. The case is now proceeding through the criminal justice system.
