Bhiwadi, Rajasthan – A sudden, raging fire ripped through a shoe‑manufacturing unit in Bhiwadi’s industrial corridor late Wednesday night, sending towering columns of black smoke into the sky.
Fire Ignites at DEIEM India’s Facility
The inferno broke out at unit E‑133, the site of DEIEM India Pvt. Ltd.’s footwear production line. Employees from neighboring factories were the first to notice the blaze and immediately alerted police and the fire brigade.
Firefighters Combat the Flames Into Dawn
Fire crews arrived within minutes and launched a coordinated attack on the fire. Because the premises store large quantities of leather, rubber and other highly flammable materials, additional fire tenders were called in to help contain the blaze.
Containment Strategies
Teams directed high‑volume water streams from several angles, aiming to stop the fire from spreading to nearby structures. Dense, acrid smoke lingered as firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the flames under control.
Safeguarding the Bhiwadi Industrial Belt
Given the tight cluster of factories in the Bhiwadi belt, crews positioned equipment and personnel at vulnerable points, maintaining a vigilant watch over adjacent units to prevent a chain reaction.
Alarm Rises Among Workers in Adjacent Units
News of the fire spread quickly through the complex, prompting workers from surrounding plants to evacuate as a precaution. Police and municipal officials reinforced security perimeters, ensuring nobody entered the danger zone.
Damage Assessment Ongoing
Officials warned that a comprehensive loss assessment can only be made once the fire is fully extinguished and the site inspected. Early indications suggest possible damage to raw materials, finished footwear and production machinery, though no official cost estimate has been released.
Investigation Initiated
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have begun collecting statements from plant management and will conduct a detailed forensic analysis once the area is declared safe.
No injuries or fatalities have been reported so far. Further updates are expected as the firefighting operation concludes and investigators piece together the events that led to the blaze.
