What the recruitment drive entails

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in New Delhi has launched a fresh hiring round for fourteen non‑teaching vacancies. The invitation, released under Advertisement No. 69/2026/Admn., seeks qualified candidates for the posts of Assistant Director, Technical Manager and Technical Assistant.

Available posts, vacancies and eligibility criteria

Assistant Director – 2 posts

Applicants should possess a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in Computer Science/IT with at least 55 % marks and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience. The upper age limit is 48 years, and the post falls under Pay Level‑10.

Technical Manager – 4 posts

Candidates need a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in the relevant discipline, a minimum of 55 % academic score and five years of professional experience. The age ceiling is 42 years; the position is also classified under Pay Level‑10.

Technical Assistant – 8 posts

The qualification requirement mirrors the other categories: a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in Computer Science/IT with at least 55 % marks. The maximum permissible age is 37 years, and the salary is governed by Pay Level‑8.

Age relaxations are applicable as per Central Government norms for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwD, ex‑servicemen and government employees.

Application process and fee details

The online portal becomes active on 3 October 2026 and will close at 23:59:59 on 2 November 2026. Application fees are Rs 1,000 for General, OBC‑NCL and EWS categories, and Rs 500 for SC, ST, PwD, ex‑servicemen and women. Payments can be made through debit/credit cards, net‑banking or mobile wallets.

Selection procedure

Depending on the designation, the university may assess candidates via qualification shortlisting, experience verification, written or computer‑based examinations, skill tests and personal interviews. Aspirants should refer to the official notification for the precise methodology applicable to their chosen role.

Hard‑copy submission – mandatory step

Filling the electronic form is only half the journey. After completing the online submission, candidates must print the application, attach self‑attested copies of all required certificates (educational, experience and category, where relevant) and mail the packet to the university.

All hard copies must be received by the Recruitment Cell no later than 12 November 2026.
