Madhubani, Bihar – A police driver lost his life in a severe collision on National Highway 27 in the Madhubani district. While navigating the stretch near Khopa, within the Phulparas police‑station jurisdiction, his Bolero struck a deep pothole, spun out of control and slammed into a passing truck before overturning.

Details of the incident

The vehicle was being operated by Tej Narayan Sah, a driver posted at the Madhubani Police Centre. Both vehicles tipped over, leaving the Bolero heavily mangled and the driver seriously injured.

Emergency response and medical care

Police patrol units reached the crash site promptly. Sah was initially taken to the Sub‑Divisional Hospital for emergency stabilization. Given the gravity of his injuries, he was subsequently transferred to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for advanced treatment. Despite intensive medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries at DMCH.

Aftermath and ongoing investigation

Traffic on NH‑27 was cleared shortly after the accident, and normal flow resumed. Law‑and‑order conditions in the area remain stable. Authorities have launched standard procedural inquiries to determine the exact cause of the crash.
