Jaipur — In order to respect the Dhanteras festivities and make life easier for voters, the Rajasthan State Election Commission has revised the itinerary for election officials heading to the upcoming Panchayat polls. Only the dates on which teams set out for their assigned constituencies have been altered; the polling dates themselves remain the same.
Phase 1
Election crews bound for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti contests will now depart on 21 October, with voting scheduled for 22 October.
The nomination window for Panch and Sarpanch posts opens on 23 October, followed by the ballot on 24 October. The Up‑Sarpanch race is slated for 25 October.
Phase 2
For the second swing, teams will leave on 27 October and conduct Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections on 28 October.
Nomination for Panch and Sarpanch positions is set for 29 October, with polling on 30 October. The Up‑Sarpanch contest follows on 31 October.
Phase 3
The third‑phase departure has been moved forward to 2 November, while voting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will occur on 3 November.
Nomination for Panch and Sarpanch seats is scheduled for 4 November, voting on 5 November, and the Up‑Sarpanch election on 6 November.
Polling Dates Stay Fixed
The commission stressed that the ballot dates are unchanged; only the movement schedule of election teams has been shifted.
This change ensures that no election activity falls on Dhanteras, a major Hindu festival, thereby sparing voters and officials from any inconvenience during the celebrations.
With the adjusted itinerary, the Panchayat election process will continue on the previously announced voting dates while honoring the festive calendar.
