Dehradun. The next milestone of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ programme—a statewide push to embed youth voices in Uttarakhand’s growth agenda—will unfold on 18 September. On that day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will sit down with 140 hand‑picked students from across the hills to hear their visions for the state’s future.
Beyond a one‑on‑one dialogue with the CM, senior IAS officers and heads of key departments have been instructed to engage the youngsters. These officials will first meet the students, absorb their proposals, and then convey the distilled insights to the Chief Minister.
More Than 2.67 Lakh Young Voices Heard
Approximately three lakh Class‑11 and Class‑12 pupils logged onto the online portal, with 267,744 submissions detailing aspirations for education, jobs, tourism, ecology, migration, technology, health care, and self‑employment.
A panel of experts evaluated the entries and shortlisted 140 candidates whose ideas stood out for originality and relevance. These students now have a rare platform to present their concepts directly to the state’s top leader.
Departmental Leaders to Join the Conversation
To translate youthful enthusiasm into actionable policy, officials from Education, Health, Forest & Environment, Public Works, Tourism, Information Technology, Self‑Employment, and Women & Child Development will hold focused discussions with the selected group.
During these sessions, bureaucrats will probe the students’ perspectives on development pathways, employment creation, and long‑term prospects for Uttarakhand.
Scholarships Up to ₹2 Lakh for Career Coaching
As part of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ initiative, each of the 140 chosen scholars will be awarded a scholarship of up to ₹2 lakh. The funds are earmarked for post‑12th career preparation, mentorship, and skill‑building programmes.
Embedding Youth Ideas into Government Schemes
Chief Minister Dhami affirmed that the administration will strive to weave the most constructive suggestions into existing schemes and forthcoming policies. He emphasized that the ingenuity of young people is a vital catalyst for Uttarakhand’s sustainable development.
