Details of the Asansol Investigation
The investigation, recorded as case 159/2026 on 25 September 2026 at the Coke Oven police station in Asansol, charges Singh under multiple sections of the Arms Act – namely 25(1)(a), 25(1B)(a), 25(6) and 25(8).

STF Pinpoints Him Near Athmalgola, Patna
Prompt intelligence from West Bengal police enabled the STF to narrow down Singh’s hideout to the area surrounding Athmalgola police station in Patna district. The breakthrough was achieved through a mix of electronic surveillance and local tip‑offs.
Raid and Capture on 3 October
Armed with the precise location, an STF team stormed the premises on 3 October. Singh was taken into custody without any resistance and was positively identified as the individual sought by West Bengal authorities.
The STF released an official statement on 5 October confirming the arrest.
