Firozpur. Anticipating a steep surge in passenger flow during the festive period, Northern Railway has introduced a dedicated special train linking Firozpur Cantt with Purnia, aimed at easing the journey for travelers heading to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Train numbers and operating days
The service, identified as 04634/04633 Firozpur Cantt‑Purnia‑Firozpur Cantt Special, will make eight round‑trips. Departures from Firozpur are scheduled every Thursday from 8 October to 26 November, while the return legs from Purnia will run each Saturday from 10 October to 28 November.
Timetable for both legs
According to railway officials, train 04634 leaves Firozpur Cantt at 5:30 pm and arrives in Purnia around 3:00 am after roughly 33 hours 30 minutes on the rails.
On the reverse journey, train 04633 departs Purnia at 6:00 am and reaches Firozpur Cantt at about 4:35 pm the next day, covering the distance in approximately 34 hours 35 minutes.

The rake will comprise 16 coaches, broken down into five AC 3‑tier coaches, six sleeper coaches and five general‑class coaches. The additional capacity is intended to relieve the load on regular services and give holiday‑bound travelers an extra option to reach their homes.
With Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath approaching, demand on routes that connect Punjab with the eastern belt of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar is projected to stay high. This special service is expected to be a valuable lifeline for those planning trips during the festive window.
