Fatal Accident in Parsokha Village
On Thursday evening, four‑year‑old Ansh Chaudhary was playing close to his house in the hamlet of Parsokha, which falls under the Kotwali police jurisdiction of Maihar district, Madhya Pradesh. He wandered to the rim of an open septic tank that still held water and inadvertently tumbled inside.
Rescue Attempts and Hospitalisation
Neighbors and relatives rushed to the scene, pulled the child from the tank and hurried him to the nearest hospital. Despite immediate medical attention, doctors were unable to revive him, and Ansh was pronounced dead, leaving his family in deep sorrow.
“No child should die because a pit is left uncovered,” a local resident lamented.
Police Investigation Launched
The Kotwali police arrived promptly, registering an accidental death case. Investigators are probing why the septic tank was left uncovered and whether any safety barriers were in place, seeking to identify any lapses that contributed to the tragedy.
Calls for Safer Infrastructure
This heartbreaking incident has reignited concerns about uncovered septic tanks and open pits in residential areas. Residents are urging authorities to ensure such structures are securely covered, especially in zones where children play. The enquiry remains ongoing as the community seeks answers and preventive measures.
