Shocking Murder of a Former Bathinda Sarpanch

On Sunday evening, Jagtar Singh, the former sarpanch of Phoos Mandi village, was viciously attacked near a liquor shop adjacent to Jassi Pau Wali Chowk on Bathinda’s outskirts. He sustained critical injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Law Enforcement’s Immediate Response

Local police were alerted within minutes. Officers swiftly cordoned off the area, secured the site, and began a meticulous collection of forensic evidence to piece together the sequence of events.

Suspect Apprehended

Investigators quickly identified and detained Gurbax Singh, also a resident of Phoos Mandi, in connection with the homicide. During the operation, the weapon suspected to have been used was recovered.

Bathinda Superintendent of Police (City) Aswant Singh Dhaliwal noted that preliminary inquiries suggest a personal dispute between the accused and the victim, and that interrogations are ongoing to determine the exact motive.
