On Monday, 5 October, the October‑delivery gold contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange slipped to about ₹1,49,347 per 10 g, trimming roughly ₹1,043 in a single session. The dip ran counter to a modest rise in international gold prices, highlighting the split behaviour between Indian futures and global spot markets.

Silver Rockets Almost ₹700

Silver moved in the opposite direction, climbing close to ₹697 to close near ₹2,26,393 per kilogram on the MCX. The rally outpaced the local gold slide and echoed a stronger percentage gain overseas.

24‑carat (24K) gold

The purest grade tradable in India is quoted around ₹1,49,540 per 10 g. Its near‑pure composition commands the highest price among standard bullion grades.

22‑carat (22K) gold

Favoured for traditional jewellery, 22K gold fetched roughly ₹1,37,078 per 10 g. The slightly lower gold content makes it a go‑to choice for intricate designs.

18‑carat (18K) gold

The 18K segment was priced near ₹1,12,155 per 10 g, offering a more budget‑friendly alternative for everyday ornaments.

Silver Price Snapshot

In the domestic market, silver hovered around ₹2,26,770 per kilogram. Its momentum outstripped gold during Monday’s trading, keeping the metal in the spotlight.

Global Benchmarks Remain Bullish

Across the world, both metals posted gains. On the COMEX, gold nudged up about 0.06 % to $4,164.80 per ounce, while silver surged roughly 1.46 %, reaching $61.30 per ounce.
