New Delhi: On Tuesday, October 6, both gold and silver nudged lower, mirroring a broader retreat in worldwide and Indian bullion markets after a spell of heightened volatility.
Global Benchmarks Retreat
On the COMEX, spot gold closed at roughly $4,153.80 per ounce, a modest decline of about 0.07%. Silver faced a sharper drop, slipping close to $61.04 per ounce, down approximately 0.43%.
Indian Market Follows Suit
Domestic traders observed a similar downward drift after the opening bell. The price of 10‑gram gold stayed near the ₹1.49 lakh threshold, while silver was quoted around ₹2.25 lakh per kilogram.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), December gold futures eased by roughly ₹176, settling at ₹1,49,300 per 10 g. Silver futures fell by about ₹500, ending at ₹2,25,700 per kilogram.

- Delhi: ₹1,48,320 per 10 g
- Mumbai: ₹1,48,620 per 10 g
- Patna: ₹1,49,540 per 10 g

- Kanpur: ₹1,48,517 per 10 g
- Lucknow: ₹1,49,470 per 10 g
- Bhopal: ₹1,48,880 per 10 g
Indicative rates for 22‑carat gold were:
- Delhi: ₹1,37,960 per 10 g
- Mumbai: ₹1,37,902 per 10 g
- Patna: ₹1,37,828 per 10 g
- Jaipur: ₹1,36,395 per 10 g
- Lucknow: ₹1,36,181 per 10 g
Silver Continues to Feel Pressure
Silver prices also softened across the country. Indicative city‑wise quotations were:
- Delhi: ₹2,25,760 per kg
- Mumbai: ₹2,26,140 per kg
- Patna: ₹2,25,190 per kg
- Jaipur: ₹2,25,310 per kg
- Kanpur: ₹2,26,920 per kg
- Lucknow: ₹2,25,150 per kg
- Bhopal: ₹2,25,550 per kg
Because bullion rates fluctuate throughout the trading session, the final amount a retail buyer pays can differ from these indicative numbers. Jewellery pricing further depends on purity, making charges, taxes and each dealer’s margin.
