Director Calls on Pilgrims to Verify On‑Site Conditions
Writer‑director Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi, creator of the devotional film Hanuman Ansh, shared a short video on social platforms urging devotees to confirm the current situation at Kainchi Dham before embarking on their journey. He noted that whether the influx is tied to the movie or not, travelers should stay informed about ground realities.
Chaturvedi warned that packed crowds and lengthy queues can become a real hassle, especially for families with children and women. He suggested postponing the visit if the shrine is experiencing an unusually high footfall.
Other Neem Karoli Baba Pilgrimage Options
Instead of navigating the congested main shrine, the director listed several lesser‑known sites linked to Neem Karoli Baba that remain open and spiritually vibrant. These include the saint’s birthplace in Neem Karoli village, Kakri Ghat, Hanuman Garhi, Akbarpur and the historic town of Vrindavan.
He reminded followers that devotion is not limited to a single location; believers can honor the guru by exploring any of these alternatives when Kainchi Dham reaches capacity.
Long Weekend Triggers Visitor Surge
The spike in footfall coincided with the October 2–4 extended weekend. Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 was a national holiday, followed by Saturday and Sunday, providing many with an ideal travel window.
Uttarakhand’s hill stations also reported heightened traffic. Mussoorie, for example, suffered heavy congestion on the Mussoorie‑Dehradun road as pilgrims from Delhi‑NCR and neighboring states such as Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab poured in.
Film Revives Interest in the Saint’s Teachings
Hanuman Ansh dramatizes the life and philosophy of Neem Karoli Baba, sparking renewed curiosity about the guru and his haunts. While social chatter linked the crowd swell to the movie, Chaturvedi stopped short of blaming the film outright, urging responsible travel instead.
His core advice remains clear: check real‑time crowd data before heading to Kainchi Dham, and if necessary, consider one of the many other spiritually rich destinations associated with Neem Karoli Baba.
