Chandigarh — During a recent mission to Singapore, Haryana’s chief minister Nayab Singh Saini turned the trip into a platform to present investment prospects that stretch far beyond the state’s flagship business hub, Gurugram.
On the third day of the delegation, Saini sat down with senior executives from more than a dozen Singapore‑based companies, urging them to consider projects that span cutting‑edge manufacturing to next‑generation industry infrastructure.
Emerging City‑Scale Hubs
The government is intent on replicating a slice of Gurugram’s vibrant technology ecosystem in five additional cities – Panchkula, Karnal, Hisar, Sonipat and Rohtak – positioning them as future magnets for tech‑centric enterprises and multinational firms.
Authorities point to a blend of skilled talent, robust connectivity, competitive cost structures and rapidly upgrading urban services as a compelling value proposition for investors.
Priority Sectors on the Table
Key themes that surfaced during the Singapore talks included semiconductors, electronics, green‑energy solutions, data‑centre construction, advanced manufacturing, warehousing and digital‑infrastructure services.
Saini highlighted Haryana’s strategic placement within the Delhi‑NCR, its mature industrial base and seamless road‑freight corridors as decisive levers for firms eyeing the northern Indian market.
The state is also courting Singaporean players to establish technology hubs, global capability centres and related operations on Indian soil.
Data‑Centre Policy 2026 in Focus
A central talking point was the newly unveiled Data Centre Policy‑2026, which aims to simplify land allocation, power provisioning, ancillary services and regulatory approvals for large‑scale data‑centre projects.
The policy is designed to cultivate a more investor‑friendly environment that fast‑tracks the rollout of critical digital infrastructure.
Logistics and Infrastructure Advantages
Haryana is leveraging its extensive network of expressways, national highways, industrial corridors and freight hubs to strengthen its pitch to global investors.
Sitting at the crossroads of major manufacturing and consumption zones in North India, the state claims a natural edge for logistics and supply‑chain activities, with Singapore’s expertise opening doors for collaborative projects.
Streamlined Government Backing
Saini reassured prospective investors that the Haryana administration will provide hands‑on support throughout the project lifecycle, from proposal scrutiny to on‑ground execution.
Accelerated approval timelines and dedicated liaison teams are being promoted as hallmarks of the state’s drive to become a more competitive destination for foreign capital.
Employment Generation at the Core
The outreach is not solely about capital inflow; it also seeks to create quality jobs for the local workforce and stimulate demand for industry‑relevant skills.
Through its Singapore engagement, Haryana hopes to broaden its industrial footprint beyond Gurugram, forging stronger international partnerships that accelerate technology adoption, manufacturing growth and infrastructure development across the region.
