Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami received a group of young delegates from Haryana who were on a three‑day exploratory tour of Uttarakhand. The gathering at the CM’s residence allowed the visitors to voice their observations on the state’s recent advances in road and digital connectivity, tourism, clean energy and social welfare programmes.

The participants praised the swift expansion of highways and broadband corridors that now thread through the rugged hills. They highlighted that even the most isolated hamlets are reachable thanks to newly carved mountain passes and extended fiber‑optic lines.

Recent railway extensions also earned commendation, with the youths noting that faster train services are opening fresh routes for pilgrims and holiday‑makers alike.

Beyond transport, the team admired Uttarakhand’s crisp mountain air and the surge in homestay establishments, a growth they linked to proactive state incentives that are turning family homes into thriving micro‑enterprises.

Infrastructure projects in border districts were singled out, as the visitors felt these initiatives are narrowing the development gap for communities living on the frontiers.

Homestays, solar rooftops and a serene ambience

During their itinerary, the Haryana contingent witnessed how upgraded tourism facilities are attracting larger footfalls. They observed that better road connectivity and visitor amenities are directly energising the local economy.

The solar rooftop scheme was described as a forward‑looking measure, capitalising on Uttarakhand’s abundant sunshine and sloping terrain.

Equally striking was the tranquil vibe and heartfelt hospitality of the locals, which helped the guests feel the cultural pulse of the “Devbhoomi” region.

CM Dhami on learning across state lines

Welcoming the delegation, CM Dhami invoked the timeless maxim “Atithi Devo Bhava.” He stressed that youth exchanges between states nurture respect for India’s diversity while showcasing successful development models, innovative practices and inclusive policies.

Dhami added that such interactions can spark idea‑sharing and inspire young leaders to adapt best practices back home.

Emphasis on last‑mile development

The chief minister reiterated that Uttarakhand’s growth agenda is geared toward delivering tangible benefits to the grassroots. He outlined welfare schemes aimed at poor families, women, farmers and youth, all rooted in the Antyodaya philosophy.

Transparent recruitment drives have reportedly placed around 35,000 young professionals in state services over the last five years, opening pathways for employment and entrepreneurship.

Balancing progress with heritage

According to Dhami, Uttarakhand is forging ahead while safeguarding its cultural and natural legacy. Key thrusts include women’s empowerment, self‑employment, tourism promotion, branding of local products, homestay support, solar energy rollout and development of border areas. He also mentioned the state’s move toward a Uniform Civil Code.

Young people as digital brand ambassadors

During the dialogue, the CM urged the Haryana visitors to amplify their positive experiences on social media, dubbing them “digital brand ambassadors” who could spotlight Uttarakhand’s pilgrimage sites, tourism offerings, indigenous crafts, millets, homestays and the achievements of women’s self‑help groups.

By sharing these stories, the youths can raise awareness of Uttarakhand’s initiatives nationwide, strengthening cultural ties and encouraging collaborative growth between Haryana and Uttarakhand in culture, tourism, innovation and development.
