The incident that ignited public fury unfolded on September 19, when the two children were reportedly intercepted by a group of men. A by‑stander captured the episode on video, and its rapid spread on social platforms forced law‑enforcement to act, resulting in the arrest of three individuals and the formation of a Special Investigation Team.
During the latest sweep, officers conducted a series of raids aimed at locating the remaining culprits. The confrontation occurred near Kunder, on the Jamui‑Lakhisarai border, where the suspects allegedly tried to flee, prompting an exchange of fire that left Nandan Yadav injured.
