Muzaffarpur – In a swift operation carried out close to Kalyambagh Chowk, constables from the Kazimohammadpur police station detained two men found with 80 grams of ganja. The suspects were taken to the station where SHO Chandrabhushan Kumar Singh lodged an FIR and set the legal process in motion.

Wider Sweep and Ongoing Investigation

After the arrests, investigators launched a series of nocturnal searches at several locations highlighted during the detainees’ statements. Authorities are now cross‑checking the intelligence supplied by the arrestees to trace a larger trafficking network.

In recent weeks, more than two dozen arrests have been recorded in the region, accompanied by seizures that include:

  • Ganja (cannabis)
  • Smack
  • Heroin
  • Brown sugar

Operation Spreads to Vaishali

The anti‑narcotics drive has now spilled over into the neighbouring Vaishali district. Three days ago, Ahiyapur police raided a compound near the Bairiya Bus Stand, confiscating 28.06 kg of ganja and arresting Mithun Kumar of Bhagwanpur.

Further questioning revealed additional suspects operating out of Vaishali. Earlier this week, a joint task force seized 185 grams of heroin and smack from three alleged couriers near Chandni Chowk. The individuals—Vikram Kumar, Sakaldeep Rai (both from Jadua, under Nagar police jurisdiction) and Sonu Kumar Rai of Bidupur—have been placed in custody as the probe continues to uncover more links in the network.
