Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that the citizens of Uttarakhand yearn for both development and stability, and that his administration is steering the state’s growth to match that aspiration. By centering public‑welfare schemes, the government aims to ensure that the fruits of progress reach every individual, from the hills to the plains.

The remarks were delivered during the ‘Uttarakhand: Development, Challenges, and the Road to 2027’ conference organised by the Adda Insider newspaper at a hotel on Rajpur Road, where Dhami outlined the government’s priorities and ongoing projects.

‘Nation First, Organisation Second, Individual Third’ – Guiding Philosophy

Dhami reiterated his party’s foundational mantra: ‘Nation First, Organisation Second, Individual Third.’ He asserted that this principle underpins every policy decision and drives the administration’s unwavering commitment to Uttarakhand’s advancement.

Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s deep ties with the state, Dhami noted that the Prime Minister has visited Uttarakhand 28 times since taking office. He added that the central government has placed special emphasis on the development of border districts, a focus that intensified after the Prime Minister described Mana as the nation’s ‘First Village.’

Tourism and Sustainable Development Gains

The chief minister pointed out Uttarakhand’s upward trajectory across multiple sectors under the guidance of the Prime Minister. He highlighted the state’s top ranking in the NITI Aayog Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index and the recent national accolades received for its tourism initiatives.

Dhami also mentioned the growing reputation of Uttarakhand as a preferred location for film shoots, adventure tourism, and destination weddings, reinforcing its diversified economic base.

Boosting Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship

Echoing the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India by 2047, Dhami stressed that young people will be the engine of that transformation. The state is expanding avenues for education, skill‑building, formal employment and self‑employment to empower the youth.

He shared that his interactions with young citizens are more conversational than hierarchical – he prefers to engage with them as a friend, believing that their ideas and aspirations infuse him with fresh energy.

Commitment to Transparent Recruitment

To safeguard fairness in public‑sector hiring, the government has introduced a strict anti‑cheating law. Dhami said this measure has reinforced confidence among diligent aspirants, citing that roughly 35,000 young people have been appointed to government posts in the past five years.

Reclaiming Encroached Government Land

Continuing efforts to protect Uttarakhand’s natural character, the administration has cleared more than 13,000 acres of government land from illegal encroachments across the state.

Dhami concluded that the ultimate goal is to push development to the most remote corners while offering every youth the chance to thrive according to their talents and potential.
