Dehradun – A fresh skill‑development programme has been unveiled to equip Uttarakhand’s young workforce with the capabilities demanded by emerging industries. Spearheaded by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Department of Skill Development & Employment signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the M3M Foundation to bridge the gap between training and jobs.

At a ceremony in Dehradun, the MoU was executed by Sanjay Kumar, Director (Training) of the department, and Dr. Aishwarya Mahajan, Managing Trustee and President of the M3M Foundation.

Four New Training Hubs to Kick Off the Initiative

The pilot phase will see dedicated centres set up in Dehradun, Haldwani, Kashipur and Pithoragarh. Depending on local demand and beneficiary availability, the towns of Almora and Barkot could be added later.

Each hub will initially offer at least two courses tailored to the needs of nearby industries, coupling hands‑on technical instruction with direct links to employers and placement assistance.

Cut‑Edge Technical Trades on Offer

Training programmes will focus on high‑growth sectors, including:

  • Electric Vehicles (EV) technology
  • Auto‑electrical maintenance
  • Automobile repair and servicing
  • Internet of Things (IoT) applications
  • Plumbing and sanitary engineering

Course selection will be driven by regional employment prospects and industry feedback, ensuring relevance and immediate job readiness.

Employment‑First Mindset

Dr. Payal Kanodia, Chairperson and Trustee of the M3M Foundation, emphasized that the partnership goes beyond classroom instruction. “Our aim is to shape a workforce that aligns with industry expectations and to secure sustainable livelihoods for every graduate,” she said.

The collaboration will prioritize industry‑oriented curricula, robust placement pipelines, and post‑training outcome monitoring to track the success of alumni.

Key officials attending the launch included Deputy Director (Employment) Chandrakanta, Deputy Director (Training) Niranjan Khugshal, Principal Dinkar Rautela, UKSDM Nodal Officer Vinita Badoni, and M3M representative Arvind Kumar Sharma.
